Reverend Maurice L. Butler

Reverend Maurice L. Butler is the current pastor of St. Paul A.M.E. Church. He is a native of Baltimore, Maryland and has been a long time resident of the State of Delaware since 1997.  Rev. Butler is married to Sister Wanda Brisueno-Butler his high school sweetheart and the love of his life who serves beside him as our Women’s Missionary Society President.  

The Reverend Maurice L. Butler is an Itinerant Minister in the African Methodist Episcopal Church.  He currently serves as the Pastor of St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church in Harrington, Delaware.   

Rev. Butler has had tremendous opportunities to serve on numerous committees and councils within the larger church as well as ecumenically throughout the various neighborhoods and communities he has been assigned to serve. He is proud to be part of a connectional reach within the A.M.E Church that extends to hundreds of sister churches and faith leaders throughout the world.  He is a passionate Christian leader with strong pastoral, administrative, operational, missionary and teaching gifts. 

He is a social-entrepreneur, nonprofit leader and strong advocate and mentor for older disadvantaged youth many of whom have dropped out of school without attaining a high school diploma, as well as those tangled in the criminal justice system.  Rev. Butler has designed several technology/project-based educational and workforce development programs to help young people overcome barriers in order to succeed in society, to include helping them to pursue higher education and meaningful work.   

Rev. Butler is a graduate of the University of Baltimore where he majored in Business Administration with a Marketing concentration, he also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Loyola University of Maryland and a Master of Divinity from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary (now Palmer Theological Seminary).
